DAY TWO

Wednesday. Home to Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Pagani and legendary motorcycle manufacturers Ducati, Motor Valley is where automotive dreams are born. This is your opportunity to take an inside look at the production lines, study their history and meet the people involved in these famous brands.

Our first factory visit of the tour is Ducati. Ducati Motorcycles was founded by the Ducati brothers in Bologna, in 1926. From the design of their first ‘moped’ right through to the current V4 superbikes, Ducati have always produced a range of eye-catching motorcycles combined with innovative technological concepts.

Between 1969 and 1973, the Ducati factory in Bologna, having been rebuilt after the war, was expanded with a new production facility and the Ducati Museum was completed in 1998 to showcase the full history of the company. The factory-based Ducati Corse racing team was founded in 1999 and has won multiple MotoGP and World Superbike Championships. Our visit starts with a guided factory and production line tour and then free time in the museum.

See the new Ducati V4 superbikes assembled during our visit to the Ducati factory production line.

The museum has just been completely refurbished and even if you are not a ‘biker’ it’s amazing to see the history and technology behind one of the greatest motorcycle brands in the world.

A superb collection of iconic racing and road motorcycles are on display in the musuem.

We move on from Ducati to their four-wheel counterparts, Lamborghini.

Founded in 1963, Automobili Lamborghini is headquartered in Sant’Agata Bolognese, near Bologna. Lamborghini has created a series of 'bedroom wall' dream cars, including the 350 GT, Miura, Countach, Diablo, Murciélago, as well as limited editions such as the Reventón and Veneno.

Very few cars managed to change the automotive world like the 1966 Lamborghini Miura. With its central engine and stylish aerodynamic body designed by Bertone, it redefined the concept of a ‘Super Car’.

Currently they produce the V10 Huracán family, successor to the Gallardo, the Aventador and the new Urus, 'Super' SUV which has created a niche in the luxury SUV segment.  We start with a guided factory tour of the Huracan and Aventador production lines and then free time in their amazing museum.

After the factory tour you will have free time to explore their amazing museum.

With the excitement of the first afternoon over we have an early dinner reserved this evening on the terrace of a converted Italian farmhouse in the hills around Modena.

DAY THREE
Thursday. After a sumptuous breakfast, this morning’s first destination is the home of ‘The boy who wanted to create the most beautiful car in the world’, Pagani.

Pagani Automobili S.p.A. is an Italian manufacturer of sports cars and carbon fibre components founded in 1992 by the Argentinian Horacio Pagani.  Mr. Pagani Formerly managed Lamborghini’s composites department and founded Pagani Composite Research in 1988 and began designing his own car, then referred to as the "C8 Project".  In 1992, he began construction of the prototype and the final car was named the Zonda C12, the first of the Zonda line and was presented at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show.

The latest model is the 235mph, million-pound Huayra, initially revealed in 2011 and named after the Incan god of wind, Huayra-tata. The engine is a 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 from Mercedes-AMG producing 720 hp. Made from carbotanium; a lightweight composition of carbon fibre and titanium, the Huayra has been redesigned from the ground up, but shares many visual qualities with its predecessor.

This morning we will have an audio-guided tour of the production facility and museum.

Once complete we will travel the short distance to the historic centre of Enzo Ferrari’s home town, Modena, where you will have time for sightseeing, shopping, and lunch.

Our next stop is the world’s greatest Maserati collection, on the outskirts of Modena. This hidden gem of a museum is privately owned and has only limited public access. With a wide array of the greatest Maserati’s, including road, racing and numerous motorcycles, it has become one of the highlights of our Italian tours over the past few years.  And just when you thought it was all over……there is a surprise awaiting around the final door!

Heading back into Modena in the late afternoon, we begin our 24-hour homage to all things Ferrari. Our starting point is the Museo Enzo Ferrari. The MEF is not just a museum but an enthralling and exhilarating experience, thanks to a mix of unique ingredients. In the futuristic 2,500-square-metre pavilion, you not only get to admire the cars on display but also enjoy a captivating immersive video experience that tells the magical story of Enzo Ferrari’s nine decades. Spanning his childhood, his discovery of racing at the start of the 20th century, his years as driver, as the brain behind the Scuderia and then as a constructor and the triumphs that brought.

In addition to that incredibly moving experience, Enzo’s father’s former workshop has been meticulously restored. The area is divided into five sections: smaller 1 to 6-cylinders, classic 12-cylinders, 8-cylinders, turbos, and, lastly, Formula 1 engines.

A Ferrari 250GTO is a star of the Modena based museum dedicated to the firms illustrious founder.

On completion of the museum visit we will make our way the short distance to tonight’s restaurant in Modena for a relaxing dinner.
