Classic Team Lotus Workshop Tour Experience 2022
Join us on either Sunday March 20th or Sunday April 3rd for a visit to the workshops of one of the greatest ever Formula One teams. Our Classic Team Lotus Workshop Tour gives you behind-the-scenes access to the world’s leading classic Lotus experts at the spiritual home of Lotus cars, Hethel in Norfolk. Lotus have been based at the site of the former RAF Hethel, a World War II airfield Since 1966 and the test track uses sections of the old runway.
The Team Lotus mechanics that supported F1 Champions such as Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell, Mario Andretti, Emerson Fittipaldi, Graham Hill and Jim Clark continue to care for the World Championship winning Lotus F1 cars that won 77 Grand Prix. Twynhams Tours and Classic Team Lotus are pleased to offer a privileged insight of everything that went into creating the Team Lotus legend.
A selection of the iconic Lotus F1 cars that will be available for you to enjoy up close and personal during the tour
Your day starts with coffee/tea and biscuits and a welcome briefing by one of the marque's leading experts. We then move on to a guided tour of the race shop, where you will have the opportunity to see how the multitude of iconic racing and sports cars are restored, serviced and maintained. Our expert guide will talk you through the history and technical significance of each of the cars displayed, before we move on to the Team Lotus archive.
Your Classic Team Lotus Workshop Tour Experience culminates with a photo opportunity with one of the instantly recognisable historic F1 cars. Once the tour is complete there's ample opportunity to look around the impressive retail area and to add to your collection of memorabilia. We are also pleased to provide every guest with a complimentary Classic Team Lotus print and a copy of an incredibly detailed Lotus F1 car Haynes Workshop Owners Manual.
On completion of the tour we have arranged a complimentary two-course lunch at the nearby ‘Bird in Hand’ public house. The Bird has been the ‘factory local’ since day one, and is full of various bits of memorabilia, one-off artwork pieces and to top it all, their food is excellent!
