Held annually since 1923 near the town of Le Mans, France, the '24 Hours' is the world's oldest sports car race. It is considered one of the most prestigious motor races in the world and is a round of the FIA World Endurance Championship. Unlike fixed-distance races whose winner is determined by the fastest time completing a set number of laps, the race is won by the car that covers the greatest distance in 24 hours. Teams must balance the demands of speed with the cars' ability to run for a whole day without mechanical failure.

But statistics only tell half the story. Le Mans is an annual pilgrimage for hundreds of thousands of race fans from all over the world. It's a week-long extravaganza of all things motorsport, from the all-night parties in the over-crowded trackside campsites, to the constant stream of supercars around the perimeter roads, and the multi-million pound budgets of the manufacturers race teams. Le Mans has a party atmosphere that you will not experience at any other circuit, that’s what it makes it so special. You can sense the history of this great race, with it’s infamous Mulsanne Straight, and tricky Porsche Curves. Head down to Arnage Corner at midnight, enjoy some ‘frites’, and soak up the ambience, as the cars brake from 190mph into the 90 degree right-hand bend, and thunder off into the distance, it’s just magical.

The Le Mans 24 Hours at night, but how long can you stay awake?

DAY ONE
THURSDAY: Check-in to the fabulous Grand Hotel de Solesmes, just a 50-minute drive from the Le Mans circuit. Located in Solesmes, the hotel is a former coaching inn that hosted monks from the Benedictine Abbey back in 1880. It's modern day incarnation provides guests with high quality rooms, a superb restaurant, free private parking, bar, garden, hot tub and sauna. We start the weekend early, on Thursday evening, with welcome drinks and dinner in the hotels restaurant. It's time to meet your fellow guests, look forward to the next few days and discuss all things 'endurance racing'!

DAY TWO
FRIDAY: Today is all about getting your bearings at the circuit and enjoying the build up to the race. After a leisurely breakfast we'll head over to the track and you will have free time to explore the vast retail area behind the paddock. There's an ever-growing number of exhibitors with stalls dedicated to motorsport. Displaying scale models, books, watches, clothes, jewellery, helmets, paintings, sculptures and antique automobilia as old as the race itself.

The pit lane is open to the public on Friday, and you can watch the teams and drivers making last minute preparations for the upcoming race. In the early evening we move to Le Mans town centre, to enjoy the 'drivers parade'. This annual event runs through the streets of Le Mans, and all the race drivers take part in a procession, launching their team marketing paraphenalia into the crowds, T-shirts, pens, balloons, posters and all sorts of other 'freebies'. It's always great fun and the weekend wouldn't be complete without it.

After the parade finishes we have dinner booked at a local restaurant, before heading back to the hotel for an early night, in anticiaption of the big weekend ahead.

DAY THREE & FOUR
SATURDAY & SUNDAY: The track action starts at 09.00hrs on Saturday morning with the 'warm up'. We don't want you too miss a moment, so our first shuttle service will transfer you to the circuit in plenty of time. On arrival at the reserved VIP parking area it's just a short walk to our hospitality marquee. Our hostesses will be ready to welcome you, give you your VIP Passes, and answering any questions you might have about the upcoming weekend.

Conveniently located trackside, the marquee and terrace offers uninterrupted views of the cars as they exit Maison Blanche, head for the Ford Chicane, and the pit-lane entrance. This will be your base for the next 2-days, and includes outstanding catering and a complimentary bar.

As the clock ticks closer to the start of the legendary Le Mans 24 Hours, the grid walk comes alive with anticipation, and you'll be right in the centre of the action, with our inclusive grid walk experience. Soak in the electric atmosphere and mingle with the drivers, teams, and VIPs on the start line of the iconic Circuit de la Sarthe. Cameras flash as fans catch glimpses of their heroes, and the air buzzes with excitement and tension. This is more than just a race; it's a moment where history, passion, and motorsport collide. Get ready—Le Mans is about to ignite!

And so the race begins.......24 hours and counting!

Whilst the race is taking place you will have full access to the main race paddock, and our hospitality marquee, terrace, and grandstand. There will be three meals served over the two days, including dinner, breakfast and lunch. We will also be running complimentary shuttle services to the famous corners around the Le Mans Circuit; Arnage, Indianapolis and Mulsanne. For those that enjoy the walk, you can visit most locations on foot and it's such a vast area that it'll take you 24 hours to cover it!

You will also have access to a reserved seat in the "T23" exclusive VIP grandstand overlooking the Ford Chicane. With unobstructed viewing as the cars attempt to out-brake each other into the final corner and then lunge across the finish line.

Seeing the Le Mans circuit from track level is great, however, you can only really understand the sheer scale of the 8 mile circuit, and this incredible event, from above. As part of your VIP tour package you will enjoy a complimentary '2-lap', low-level, helicopter flight around the track! It won't be as fast as the Hypercars down below, but you'll have a much better view!

One of the highlights of the 24 hour race is seeing the cars race into the night. Everyone has their favourite spot to soak up the ambience of the event and whether that is the paddock, one of the famous corners, or the fan village, it's a magical experience. Sit back, grab a beer (or wine!), and just relax into the evening, with the aural backdrop of highly tuned racing engines being pushed to their limit.

Not everyone wants to stay awake for 24/36 hours so we will be running return shuttles between the hotel and circuit throughout the race. As the race draws to a thrilling close at 16.00hrs on Sunday we'll toast the winners with one last drink together in the hospitality marquee, and then make our way back to the hotel, to enjoy a farewell group dinner, at a local restaurant.

DAY FIVE
MONDAY: After a leisurely breakfast it's time to head back north for the Channel crossings or extend your stay in France and continue your onward journey.

I just wanted to send an email saying what an amazing experience my son and I had. Tim and Dan were amazing, they are a credit to the company. Tim really looked after us, answered all our questions, and was great with my son. So much so that when we were in the Paddock Tim was spotting drivers for H to speak to and get their pictures. By the end of the trip H was asking Tim how to work for your company when he's older. Usually, it's a racing driver or nothing so it was nice to see him asking some career questions. H decided to do the full experience and stay up for the entire 24-hour race instead of returning to the hotel with the others. That was pretty cool, we were in the Paddock at 3 a.m. soaking up the atmosphere and on the ferris wheel at 3:30am. It was an experience we'll never forget. When people asked about it today at work you can't really explain the feeling of Le Mans; it's not just a car race, you have to experience it. I still have adrenaline from the race and the experience, knowing a dream came true for me and the way I did it with Twynhams Tours just made it all the better. The group was great, J and R were the life of the group, and Bill and Pam were also wonderful. They all made H feel welcome and not out of place which was nice. Good luck with your upcoming events. I'll hopefully be back one day once I sell a kidney or two, haha.
